Developing the characteristics young people need to thrive in a global economy
How it works
BeWorldClass an easy-to-use web-based platform that supports the development of the characteristics of students individually, and across a whole cohort. Accessible by students at any age and year group, it is easy-to-use with minimal teacher intervention required.
It’s a cloud platform, which means students and teachers can use BeWorldClass from any device in any location with an internet connection without needing to download anything.
A focus on characteristics
The world is changing rapidly; we have to make our children ‘future ready;’ we know that we cannot predict, with any degree of certainty, the knowledge and understanding our students will need in times to come. What we can predict however, are the skills, competencies and characteristics they will require to succeed.
Characteristics can be developed by every child; focusing on character development is one of the most truly inclusive processes a school can engage with.
A focus on learning
We know, as educators, that without developed characteristics, a child cannot learn. If a child does not have, for example, focus, concentration, resilience, listening skills, communication skills, they cannot learn. Characteristics and skills come before knowledge acquisition.
Our most vulnerable students lack the opportunities to develop their characteristics out of school. Characteristics are seen as ‘soft skills’ and therefore there has been a perception that they cannot be acquired, developed, exercised, practised and improved in a systematised way; but they can.
Growing skills and confidence
Research demonstrates that parents are most concerned with schools developing their children’s skills, competencies and characteristics so they can survive in the future, once they have left the school.
Preparing for the global economy
Skills and characteristics are internationally translatable, and transcend cultural barriers. Any visions that have been developed of a what a future global education system might look like are based on systems of competencies and characteristics.
Building a portfolio of characteristics
BeWorldClass invites students to explore their own personality and skills. As they work their way through our framework, they record evidence of their characteristics which can be downloaded as a portfolio.

Students will have to respond to the future collaboratively; characteristics are understood by everyone, and exercised socially; they are the functions on which collaboration relies
