BeWorldClass for Secondary Schools

Developing the characteristics young people need to thrive

How it works

BeWorldClass is on an easy-to-use web-based platform that supports the development of the characteristics of students individually, and across a whole cohort. Accessible by students at any age and year group, it is easy-to-use with minimal teacher intervention required.

The cloud platform means students and teachers can use BeWorldClass from any device in any location with an internet connection without needing to download anything.

Our framework of characteristics

Students can find it difficult to articulate what their strengths are in terms of characteristics. BeWorldClass gives them a framework to confidently explore their personality, and decide what their strengths are.

By working with our schools and industry partners, we have identified the characteristics that are most essential for students to succeed in an emerging global economy.

Growing skills and confidence

Research demonstrates that parents are most concerned with schools developing their children’s skills, competencies and characteristics so they can survive in the future, once they have left the school.

Preparing for the global economy

Skills and characteristics are internationally translatable, and transcend cultural barriers. Any visions that have been developed of what a future global education system might look like are based on systems of competencies and characteristics.

Building a portfolio of characteristics

BeWorldClass invites students to explore their own personality and skills. As they work their way through our framework, they record evidence of their characteristics which can be downloaded as a portfolio.

LinkedIn integration and guidance

LinkedIn can be used in combination with BeWorldClass by students over the age of 16 to help with the transition from school to further education and employment. Online professional networking and digital portfolios will be vital for success in the future.

Why BeWorldClass?

BeWorldClass is run by World Class Schools, a charity concerned with developing the skills, competencies and characteristics young people need to thrive in an ever changing global economy.

Our framework was devised and trialled by our schools, their teachers and pupils, primary, secondary, special and international. Our processes have been devised and trialled in a totally school-led way, by some of the best schools in the world, our current accredited World Class schools.

This app is ground breaking and unique; there is not a process or app anywhere like this nationally or internationally.

Each subscribed school is entitled to one-on-one screen-share training sessions on how to set up and use BeWorldClass.

Each characteristic within the 6 BeWorldClass areas comes with a lesson plan to help lead class discussions and thinking around how students can prove that they have the characteristic.

A library of support and training videos for teachers and students. Including videos on setup, student usage, and teacher marking.
